Terms of use

Diokle (formerly DAEdalus) is a free, open-source Modelica workbench. These terms cover the hosted site at daedalus.apps.ezkeel.com, which is the workbench, the documentation and the assistant. The software is licensed separately under Apache-2.0.

Beta text, published 17 October 2026. A lawyer will review it, and it will be updated after that. Items in brackets are still to be confirmed.

Who runs the service

The operator is Andrea Ferrarelli. [Company name, country and registered address: to be confirmed before paid features start.] Contact through the project's GitHub issues.

Using the workbench

You may use the workbench to model, check, simulate and analyze systems, and to export the results. Simulation runs in your browser, on your own device, or on an engine you run yourself. We do not inspect the models you build.

The assistant and third parties

The assistant sends each message you write, and the source, documentation and tool output it reads, to OpenRouter and to the model provider you select. Those providers process that content under their own terms. You can use your own OpenRouter key. Model output can be wrong, so check results before you rely on them.

Free and paid use

The workbench, the solvers, the command-line tool and the Python API are free, and they will stay free. Hosted cloud compute, private projects and sharing, and hosted assistant usage may become paid later. Any paid option will be priced publicly before you buy it.

Today the assistant runs on your own OpenRouter key, so you pay your model provider directly and nothing is charged by us. A hosted assistant with free monthly messages and purchasable credits is planned for the beta. It is not live yet. These terms will be updated before it launches, and its limits and prices will be published on the site at that time.

Companies above [revenue threshold, to be confirmed] are invited to a paid agreement.

Acceptable use

Do not use the service to break the law, infringe others' rights, disrupt or gain unauthorized access to the service, send automated traffic at a volume that slows it for others, or produce unlawful content.

Your models and third-party software

You own the models and results you create. The DAEdalus software is licensed under Apache-2.0. The Modelica Standard Library is licensed under BSD-3-Clause. Third-party notices are in the repository's NOTICE file.

No warranty; engineering use

The service is provided as is, without warranty, to the extent the law allows. Simulation and analysis results are not validated for safety-critical use. Verify results before you use them in design, certification or operation.

Liability

[To be completed by a lawyer.]

Changes and law

We may change these terms. We will post the new date and tell users of material changes on the site. [Governing law and courts: to be confirmed.]
